Procedure

How to apply

Check the entry requirements

Confirm that your secondary school qualification and English level (IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 72 or an equivalent accepted certificate) meet the requirement of your chosen faculty.

Submit the online application

Complete the admission form with scanned copies of your certificate, transcript, passport and photograph. There is no application fee.

Receive the conditional offer

The faculty admission committee reviews complete files within ten working days and issues a conditional letter of acceptance by email.

Pay the first instalment and confirm

Pay the first tuition instalment, after which the university issues the official letter of admission and the accommodation offer used for your visa file.

Apply for the visa and arrive

Apply for a type D student visa at the Serbian embassy in your country. The International Office prepares your documents, books airport pick-up and registers your residence on arrival.

General entry requirements

Completed secondary education of at least four years, with a recognised leaving certificate.
English at IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 72, or secondary education completed in English.
Valid passport with at least twelve months of validity.
Recognition of the foreign qualification, arranged by the university with ENIC/NARIC Serbia.
Medical fitness certificate for faculties with clinical or laboratory practice.
Entrance examination in the subjects prescribed by the chosen faculty (online for applicants abroad).

Tuition

Tuition and entry by faculty

Annual tuition may be paid in up to three instalments at no additional cost. All laboratory, clinical and examination fees are included.

Funding

Scholarships and discounts

Roughly one student in four holds a scholarship, funded jointly by the university and the Danube Scholarship Endowment.

50% of tuition

Danube Excellence Scholarship

For applicants with an outstanding secondary school record (90% and above). Funded by the Danube Rectors’ Conference endowment; 60 awards each academic year, renewable while a GPA of 3.5 is maintained.

25% of tuition

Novi Sad Merit Grant

Awarded on the combined result of the secondary certificate and the entrance examination in each faculty. Renewable annually with a GPA of 3.0.

15% of tuition

Sibling and Family Discount

For the second and each further member of the same family studying at the university at the same time.

Full tuition waiver

Humanitarian Places

Twenty fully funded places each year for students from conflict-affected regions, awarded with the support of the host city and the partner universities.

Frequently asked

Is my secondary certificate accepted?

Qualifications from more than 90 countries are assessed each year. The university arranges recognition with ENIC/NARIC Serbia at no cost once you are conditionally admitted.

Do I need to speak Serbian?

No. All teaching, examinations and administration are in English. Free Serbian courses at A1 and A2 are offered each semester for daily life.

Is the degree recognised in my country?

Degrees are accredited in the Republic of Serbia and carry a Diploma Supplement under the European Higher Education Area framework, which is the basis for recognition across Europe and beyond.

Can I work while studying?

Yes. Holders of a student temporary residence permit may work up to twenty hours a week during the semester with a work permit from the National Employment Service.

What if my visa is refused?

Tuition already paid is refunded in full on presentation of the written refusal of the embassy.
